When Adele first hired us to shoot her wedding she showed me some pictures of her family's estate in Gardiner Maine where the wedding would be held. It looked incredible and yet when I arrived on Sat. it was beyond my wildest expectations. The estate is a fortress and is appropriately decorated in circa 1920's (I'm guessing) antiques. The wedding itself was so much fun! By far the most kid-friendly wedding of my career. If anyone is planning a kid-friendly wedding take some of these ideas! There was a kid section in the church. They had a puppet (Grandpa) who spoke to the children as part of the ceremony. They hired a slew of babysitters to watch the kids during the cocktail hour. Then a kid table with crayons and things during dinner. After dinner all of the children we're invited to dress up and they did a costume parade during the first dance!
You'll also noticed that the Bride and Groom changed into comfy clothes during the reception. It was very hot and they were uncomfortable. Good for them for being such independent thinkers!
Here is their wedding story, wonderfully complimented by our second shooter Andree Kehn who is an awesome Maine Wedding Photographer. It's amazing how much a wedding is complimented by such a talented second photographer.
