I really don't want to give anyone the impression that fraud is rampant in the wedding photography industry, but everyone should know it is real and present. I just read about photographer Ramon Rodriguez who stole over $27,000 from couples and never showed up for their wedding. Unfortunately, wedding photography is an unregulated industry. There aren't credentials required or any kind of central board ensuring competence. The means that couples have to be cautious. My advice:
1. Check reviews and/or ask for references.
2. Consider insurance.
3. If a deal sounds too good to be true...it just might be.
