If you are reading this, you probably already think that wedding day photos are important. I found this article in the Sun Advocate to be a pretty balanced report on the benefits of hiring a pro wedding photographer.
"Price alone should not dictate which photographer to hire....skimping on a photography allotment may result in subpar results. That doesn't mean you need to hire the most expensive photographer, but couples should realize the value of experience and professional equipment, both of which tend to come at a premium price."
In photography, you often get what you pay for and that is because for a full time professional photographer equipment and education is expensive. And that doesn't even touch on the advertising we need to do to attract couples. Running a photography business is not cheap and most photographers care deeply about creating high quality work which means investing in continuing education and new equipment.
